Tensora-SuDoku - a brain teaser game for you

by Klaus-D. Ahrens

Are you a Sudoku fan?

Then this program will inspire you.

You are not a fan yet? You will be.

With Tensora Sudoku, you will either get even better than you already are. Or you can become the right fan.

Because the program is incredibly fun. It can not only solve puzzles independently - it also helps you solve the Sudoku puzzles with its many "helpers".

Conversely, it also provides you with unique puzzles that you can solve yourself - if you want, with graduated help.

Or you can enter really complicated puzzles - e.g. from magazines or the Internet. Tensora Sudoku solves every difficult puzzle. Or you can solve it and be supported by the program.

Do you want to archive and understand your Sudoku games? Or restart at certain attachment points? Do it with this program.

In the game archive, we have stored over 20 exciting puzzles that you can view and - if you want - understand. Or you can have it solved or solve yourself.

You will soon be able to download Tensora Sudoku from this website and save it, for example, on a USB stick or on your drive. Or you can send us an email and we will send you the program to your e-mail address. An installation process is not necessary.

1. The start

Use Windows Explorer or Mac Finder to open the directory on the drive or stick. There you double-click on the file "Tensora_Sudoku.exe" (Windows) or on "TENSORA_SUDOKU.app" (Apple Mac) and you will see the start window:

From then on, the program will guide you through the steps you can take - read the options you have in the text box at the bottom of the window.

2. The riddle

There are four ways to get a puzzle:

  1. They themselves enter one that they have seen in a magazine or on the Internet.

  2. You select one of the four super puzzles permanently available in the program ("Load Example").

  3. Or you can have a new puzzle generated by the Tensora Sudoku app ("New Puzzle").

  4. You can also select a puzzle from the game archive that you want to continue or solve again at a attachment point ("lot overview).

In this example - see picture above - we clicked on the "New puzzle" button. The puzzle was then generated and displayed. Here, too, read the options in the text box in the lower half of the window. We now click on the "Transfer the puzzle to the graphics window" button.

3. The “work” – the fun

Here we have the "work" window - the puzzle has been transferred here from the start window. Now the fun really begins.

Because you can now edit the puzzle and of course solve it - read the options at the bottom of the text box again.

The various buttons give you the opportunity to get very minimal help up to complex support.

Just click on all these switches and try them out.

During the end of your game, your moves will be automatically saved. You can view them at any time with the help of the "Train overview" button.

4. The features of your game

Here you can see the first 20 moves of a game with the game number 13. The first move with the number 0 shows the starting situation of the game - i.e. the puzzle with which the game started. Click on a line of your choice and then on the "Load train" button. The digit constellation that prevailed after this move now becomes visible in the graphics window. This allows you to track the game and, if necessary, restart it after a critical move that you have marked. Such a marking is done by clicking on the "Edit train" button - a new window appears - see the following picture.

5. The critical train

If you have already worked on and solved complicated Sudoku puzzles, then you know that you usually only realize at the very end whether your game works or not. If your solution search does not work, you can usually start all over again - unless you use Tensora's Sudoku program. You can set a sign of your choice in the "Assumption" field (here the user has set a B) and comment on the move. If you later reach a dead end in your solution "work", you can set up again on this move and continue the game with an alternative digit.

6. More critical moves

The fan who played this game had marked two moves - i.e. he has one character in the "Assumption" field (here A or B) set. These are trains 62 and 71. On train 62, he had the choice between 1 and 2. He had chosen 2. On train 71, he chose the 1. The game is not over yet. If the game does not open, the user can load the constellation back into the graphics window after move 71 (with the help of the "Load train" button). He can then replace the 1 with 9 and restart it. If the game does not open even then, he can reset further ahead with move 62 and choose the 1 there. This feature of the Tensora Sudoku application is unique. 7. The game overview

Take another look at the image in section 1 of this presentation. There you will find, among other things, the button "Part overview" on the start window. Clicking on it opens the following overview:

We have entered the first 24 games for you. They are based on puzzles from the Internet or magazines. They are almost all heavy to extreme. The remaining games are simple exercises. If you play games yourself, they will be listed here.

A click on the button "Train overview" (at the top of the header) opens this and shows the moves of the marked game there. Clicking on the "Load part" button (also at the top of the header) opens the graphics window - see section 3 of this presentation. There, the move 0 - i.e. the initial constellation (= the puzzle) of the game is then displayed. You can then replay the game in the graphics window or solve the puzzle again if necessary.

However, you can also have the puzzle transferred back to the start window (see section 1 of this presentation) using the "Return" button on the graphics window. There - i.e. on the start window - the program can look for the solution if you wish.

By clicking on the button "Care of game headers" in the header of the game overview, you open the game master data window - here you can comment on the game:

Have fun with Tensora-Sudoku
